Lucien Vandendriessche, Peasant still life - Oil on canvas - Belgium - 1949
Artist Lucien Van Den Driessche (Deinze, 1926 - Jette, 1991) was the son of René Van Den Driessche, also a painter from Deinze. Lucien was a self-taught artist who initially painted under the influence of the Latem School (Saverys, De Smet, Permeke). Here we see an early work from 1949, a simple but compelling peasant still life.
