Deirdre Heller (1936-2017): Untitled - Abstract art - United States - Late 20th century

Signed color print, enhanced with gold leaf and watercolor by the American abstract artist Deirdre Heller.

“Art for me is a very personal and profound experience. My desire is to use the creative process of watercolor to evoke feeling and translate images into design and color, making the viewer aware of God's gift of nature. I want the viewer to feel some of the joy, excitement and enthusiasm that I feel when I look at nature through the eyes of an artist.”

An internationally recognized artist, her paintings are exhibited in galleries, offices and homes around the world. A longtime Omaha artist, Dee was a founding member of The Passageway of Color Gallery & Twenty Talents Art Gallery and an avid educator of her fellow artists who brought many well-known artists to Omaha for seminars. Her Omaha skyline painting was commissioned for the USS Omaha Wardroom. It traveled around the world and hung in the offices of two Nebraska congressmen.

An underestimated icon of the American abstract art movement at your fingertips.
