Paul Sortet was a French painter who was mainly active and lived in Belgium but got his inspiration from his many travels and stays on the African continent, mainly in Congo, Burundi and Rwanda where he eventually settled as a farmer. This rare work from a private collection shows the way to the Cercle Nautique in Bujumbura, where Sortet liked to stay.
