Georges Vercruysse: 'Portrait of a girl' - Pastel on paper - Boom, Belgium - 1950-1959

Beautiful pastel portrait on paper of a girl by the Boom painter Georges Vercruysse (1910-1986), signed by the master lower left and professionally framed behind glass.

Vercruysse was an exceptionally versatile artist (he was also an etcher and sculptor) who was a source of inspiration for numerous artists from Boom and Antwerp. He was director of the Boom Art Academy and part of the 'Kunst en Kultureele Vereeniging RUGO', which offered young artists the opportunity to exhibit their work.
