Very rare late 19th century mechanical diamond cutter in original design of cast iron, brass and steel. Manufactured for the diamond industry in Antwerp, Belgium. In beautiful condition considering age and use. In the 19th century, although the mechanical method of diamond cutting is still used, this device was indispensable for diamond cutting or diamond processing, a traditional process with which a rough diamond is cut into jewelry. Both a decorative and a historical pearl!
