Antique 1916 T-blade bayonet - World War 1 - Wood, metal - Belgium/United Kingdom - 1914-1918
Antique Belgian bayonet from the First World War type 1916-T used for the Mauser 1889 or Mauser 1935/36. The 1916 "T blade" bayonet is based on the blade of the French 1874 Gras bayonet. The scabbard is the same as the regular 1916 bayonet. The 1916 bayonet was produced in England during the First World War with the help of refugee personnel from the FN and the MAE (Manufacture d'Armes de l'Etat) in the Ateliers de Fabrications d'Armes Portatives (AFAP), founded in Birmingham. .
