Beautiful large landscape painting by the Belgian painter Sylvain Beerens with a view of the Flemish Ardennes at nightfall. Oil on canvas, signed and dated by the master lower right and beautifully framed in stained oak.

Sylvain Beerens (Sint-Maria-Oudenhove, 1917-2005) was a painter and cartoonist from the Flemish Ardennes, best known for his magical landscapes. Most of his oeuvre consists of freely imaginative landscapes from the Flemish Ardennes and the Scheldt and Lys region. But Beerens also painted Dutch, Italian and Spanish panoramas. In addition to landscapes, he also painted religious scenes, such as a Stations of the Cross that was consecrated in 2001 in the church of Sint-Maria-Lierde.
