Special nature morte with pipe, lemons and saints' relic by the French painter Robert Freysz. Signed by the master, in oak frame.

The French painter, watercolorist, draftsman and architect Robert Freysz (Mulhouse 1908 - Limoges 1971) moved to Ghent in 1933. He was educated at the Antwerp Academy with Isidoor Opsomer (1933-1939) and Pierre Paulus (1943-1944). Is mainly known as a portraitist, but also painted beautiful still lifes. Exhibited in the Galerie "Vyncke-Van Eyck" in Ghent in 1959 and with "Les Arts en Europe" in Brussels from 1964 to 1970. Mentioned in BAS II and in "Two centuries of signatures of artists in Belgium".
