Vincent Van Gogh: 'Souvenir de Mauve' - Art Print - The Netherlands - 1960-1969

Beautiful art print of the famous work 'Souvenir de Mauve' (or: Pink peach trees) from 1888 by the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890). Signed and titled in the plate. Professionally framed by art dealer Ter Reie from Bruges, with sticker on the back.

When the fruit trees in Arles were in bloom in the spring of 1888, Van Gogh painted them almost every day. In a short time he makes fourteen paintings and several drawings and sketches of the flowering trees. He considers Pink peach trees to be one of the most successful in the series. In the evening of the day on which Van Gogh made this painting, he finds a letter from his sister, who writes to him that Anton Mauve has died. This painter was not only his cousin by marriage; He also taught him to paint in oils and watercolors. Van Gogh decides to dedicate the work to him.
