Large lobed lidded vase in Delft Blue ceramics by Herman Veldhuis for the Dutch ceramics factory Velsen Sassenheim in the 1950s. Based on an original chinoiserie design from 1669 with floral decor and birds of paradise. Signed with the Velsen logo and signed HV for Herman Veldhuis.

Ceramist Herman Veldhuis (1916-2002) worked for De Porceleyne Fles from 1946 to 1952 before collaborating with Velsen from 1952 to 1963.
