Robert Kayaert: "Hergé posant avec des modèles de ses characters" - Cibachrome print - Belgium - 1970-1979

Rare, large cibachrome print by Robert Kayaert (1920-2007) featuring Hergé (pseudonym of Georges Prosper Remi Remi), the creator of Tintin, posing in the year 1964 amidst a collection of models of his iconic cartoon characters. This ilfochrome is Artist Proof hand signed on the passepartout and professionally framed.

Robert Kayaert was a talented portraitist and press photographer for the INR, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie and the Queen Elisabeth Competition, among others. His photographs painted a unique view of his time. Robert Kayaert also made numerous reports about Belgium that convey timeless atmospheres through images, from Ostend to Arlon. This also includes a historical report on Hergé, of which a rare cibachrome print is offered here.

Ilfochrome (also commonly known as Cibachrome) is a dye destruction positive-to-positive photographic process used for the reproduction of film transparencies on photographic paper. The prints are made on a dimensionally stable polyester base as opposed to traditional paper bases.
