Beautiful red glazed ashtray by the Belgian ceramist Elisabeth Vandeweghe for the world-famous ceramic house Perignem in Beernem, Belgium. This glazed ceramic ashtray from the 1970s is signed 'Perignem' and is a beautiful example of Mid-Century Modern art.
Elisabeth Vandeweghe is still active in the art world. Together with other ceramists, she still runs the Perignem business space that her parents started in the early 1960s. Vandeweghe's work is very figurative and often has a beautifully colored glaze.
