Christofle is a French company that produces silver-plated and solid silver items. It is best known for its cutlery, but also has a wide range of bowls, coffee and tea sets, birth gifts, desk accessories, photo frames and other gift items. It was founded in 1830, when the jeweler Charles Christofle took over the management of a workshop belonging to his wife's family that produced jewellery.

In the 19th century, Christofle received major commissions from the Emperor of Mexico, from the French Emperor Napoleon III and from the Paris Opera. Christofle collaborated with artists and designers such as the Parisian goldsmith Antoine Perrin, Man Ray, Jean Cocteau, Gio Ponti, Andrée Putman, Martin Szekely, Ito Morabito (Ora-Ïto) and Richard Hutten.
