The French painter Louis Basset (Paris, 1948), son of horn player Charles Basset, is a child of Paris. So much so that he was nicknamed 'Louis Paris', due to the fact that most of his works are Parisian faces. He learned the trade from his friends in the Latin Quarter and grew into a celebrated and appreciated painter of city views of his beloved City of Love.
