Large serigraphy (33/50) by the Belgian artist Frans Minnaert (1929-2011) with a composition of a mountain range. Signed in the print and signed and numbered in pencil by the master.
Frans Minnaert (Idegem, 1929-2011) trained as a visual artist at the Municipal Academy of Aalst and at the Académie Royale des Beaux Arts in Brussels. After his studies, he undertook study trips to Yugoslavia, South Africa and Japan, where he also exhibited repeatedly. In the 1970s, Minnaert was laureate of the Kortenberg Prize for Drawing Art, of the Young Artists Prize at the International Art Fair of Basel (Switzerland) and of the Diano Marina Graphics Prize (Italy). In 1974 he was selected for the Venice Biennale with the polyptych “Genesis”. The landscapes in which he lived and the people he met were his familiar themes. Frans Minnaert's oeuvre can be found in numerous museums and collections, national and international.
Serigraphy is a process in which an image is created using screen printing techniques. The image is scanned from the original oil painting and digitally separated into the different colors. Each color is assigned its own screen print and is applied by hand.
